SUMMARY:Tom Perriello Talk on AI and Data Centers
DESCRIPTION:Come out to talk to Tom Perriello\, who is running against McGuire\, this Wednesday at 6! \n \n“FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\nOctober 12\, 2026 \nMEDIA CONTACT:\nBrytan Mendes\n(917) 544-5856 \n  \nPerriello to Host Farmville Town Hall on AI and Data Centers\nFARMVILLE\, VA — Tom Perriello will host a public town hall on Wednesday\, October 14\, at 6 p.m. in Farmville to discuss the rapid expansion of AI and data centers across Virginia. \nAs families face rising utility costs and landowners confront the threat of eminent domain being used by private companies\, Perriello is demanding greater accountability from Dominion Energy and the big tech companies driving electricity demand. \nPerriello has also called for strong national guardrails on AI to protect workers from job displacement\, safeguard children and personal privacy\, and hold technology companies accountable. He believes workers should share in the economic benefits of AI\, rather than seeing their jobs eliminated while corporate profits soar. \nThe event is the second in Perriello’s AI and Data Center Town Hall series\, giving residents an opportunity to raise concerns and ask questions directly. Perriello has contrasted his commitment to holding in-person town halls and refusing corporate and lobbyist contributions with Congressman John McGuire’s record. \nMcGuire has never held an in-person town hall during his time in Congress\, but he had no problem accepting more than $164\,000 in corporate donations and voting for legislation providing more than $362 billion in tax breaks for data centers at the expense of rural healthcare funding. \nThe town hall will take place at the Prince Edward County Extension Office\, 100 Dominion Drive\, Farmville\, VA 23901\, on Wednesday\, October 14\, at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend\, ask questions\, and share their concerns.”
